Hi Everyone, I plan to do transactional replication. The publisher/distributor is sql2005 and subscriber is sql 2000. Is that possible. Because When I setup subscriber, I keep getting "The directory service is currently unavailable" in finding sql server replications.Thank you in advance |

Yes it's possible. Are they in same domain? |

unfortunately we are in different domain. We want to replicate data from another company. some more info: Sql versionwe use sql 2000 (SP1), I am not sure what version another company uses. But I think it's sql2005. Do I need to upgrade to sp3 or sp3a?So can we setup transactional replication with updatable subscriptions from our end? or we need them to setup publisher/distributor so we can setup subscriber/distributor?Are there particular requirements? For example, what do we need to know from them to setup? This is the first time I setup replication in different domain.so I am not really sure it would be the same as I setup within the same domain.Thank youquote: Originally posted by rmiao Yes it's possible. Then those domains have to be trusted. |
