Local system has too many permissions. The standard security recomendations are to use accounts that have the minimum permissions necessary to do what is needed.

Local system is administrator on the local machine and hance has permissions to do anything.

The second reason is that local sysem ONLY has permissions on the local pachine, not anywhere else on the network. So if you need SQL agent to access other server, file shares, etc it won't be able to.

Make any sense?
