Hi All,

I need some help from u..

I wanted to know the exact flow behind SQL Server when we fire

SELECT select_list

[ FROM table_source ]

[ON Join_Condition]

[ WHERE search_condition ]

[ GROUP BY group_by_expression ]

[ HAVING search_condition ]

[ ORDER BY order_expression [ ASC | DESC ] ]

what is exact execution process mean which get first strike to server and then what followed then..

not sure exactly what you are asking for.

if you want to know the query plan for a query, then run it in SSMS with the "include actual execution plan" button checked.

if you want to see the plan without running the query, you can use the "show estimated execution plan" button.

You have to look at the query plan to find out how sql server will do things for a given query. SQL is a declarative language. you say what you want, not how you want the server to do it. to find out how it will do it, you have to look at the query plan.
