Hi

I have just installed Sql server 2005 on a win 2008 server, I noticed that the sql server icon isn't in the tray, but the server is started. How can I get the sql server in the tray?

You can't.

You can check the status of the SQL Server service in the services.msc.

Hmmm, is that win 2008 specific? beacuse in Win 2003 it is in the tray

No. Sql2k has that but not sql2k5.

try to log off and login into the server ,u might get the icon... and will not affect downtime aswell.
