Is it possible to have individual backup file for each DB, possibly in the form of DB_Name_YYYYMMDD.BAK while backing up on – NETWORK?

"while backing up on – NETWORK?"

What do you mean? Yes you can do as you said with Maintenance plan and choose subfolders for each database -it will create MM-DD-YY for you in bak files.

you can not do that when the backup is NOT on local server.

I tried. It is not possible. Or am I missing something? When doing the network backup you need to create a DEVICE. this is just a container.

All the susequent backups will be inside one container. There will not be individual files.

you will not be able to pick up the path (like browse and click) but you can specify it

also it might be good to just schedule the sproc that will create the backup files instead of relying on the maintenance wizard

that's just me and how i would do it
