You need the INSERT permission.

GRANT INSERT ON SomeObject TO SomeUserOrRole

if i give db_reader & db_writer also this works right..?

Yes but that provides more permissions than you've mentioned in your first post. We allow only exec on stored procedures, so our environment is very secure.
