Hi Guys!

I am trying to create a 'scheduled back up database task'maintenance plan which has an option to 'overwrite backups' but with also the "Create a backup file for every database" option checked. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks Guys.

Create maintenance plan with wizard, there are those options in backup page.

Hi Guys,

I tried all that, the problem i am facing is that the moment that i have the "Create a backup file for every database" option checked, the option to overwrite becomes greyed out (unavailable). The option to overwrite is only available when i have the "Backup Database across one or more files" option checked which is not what i want.

Thanks guys!

you can't have both option in Maintenance plan. You can delete older backups like older than 1 day.

Sql will create backup file everyday with timestamp in file name in your case.
