Hi All,

I have created new xyz database in one of our sql server 2005. Now I want to restore the YTR database from sql server 2000 server and I also wanted my SQL server 2000 logins/users and thier permissions remain same on YTR database.

Urgent help would be appreciable.

Dear Friend, I am not sure if you want to restore the DB into existing DB(xyz) or you want to create other DB for YtR Db. The Process is Simple as you can search in google for it. Anyway. First take the SQL 2000 DB backup create scripts for all jobs and logins with the help of sp_revlogin. Now you are ready to go for Migration. Restore your Backup to existing DB or else you can restore for the fresh DB. Run all scripts for Jobs and userlogins (Which you got from SP_revlogin). For DTS package you should be able to run from 2005 or if you wana Migrate that too in 2005 you can export DTS to SSIS packages as well.

Hope this will guide you and from now onwards you should be able to find the solution by yourself as well. First thing you should have to google it, if not find the solution then come to the Forum.
