| At present I am using windows xp pro.If I buy a new laptop, should I get vista on it instead? Is it better for development, etc...?Thanks |

| Better? No.But XP is being phased out and eventually you will come across software that only runs on Vista.What you should NOT upgrade to is Office 2007. It is horrible, and I have switched over to using Open Office instead.e4 d5 xd5 Nf6 |

| You can use VISTA, when you are Done installing SQL 2005, you will be Presented with Add New Admin for Windows Vista... Pl have a close look at the installation.Or You can create the Admin user, after your are done the Original installation of SQL 2005, through SQL Server 2005 Surface Area configuration.I will personally promoto you to use windows VISTA, its a new Technology and a NEW OS.. so you should try that out... YES apply SP1 to Vista... Get MORE RAM (Min 4GB) GOOD HDD(if possible 7200 RPM)Maninder |
