Hi All

I am in the process of ordering a new server, and am thinking about the best drive configuration.

The server will have 8 bays available so I am thinking...

1 RAID 1+0 (4 disks):
C volume for OS
D volume for app install + page file
E volume for sql log files (inc tempdb log)

1 RAID 1+0 (4 disks):
F volume for tempdb data
G volume for data files

Any thoughts on whether this is a completely stupid configuration greatly appreciated (hopefully before I start the install...)

I'll build 4 raid 1 arrays:

1 for os, app, page file;
1 for user db data fils;
1 for system db data files;
1 for db log files.
