Hi ALL,

Please go thru this...

On July 8 2008, Microsoft released a set of security patches under the bulletin MS08-040. These apply to all versions (7, 2000, 2005) and editions (Enterprise, Standard, MSDE, and Express) of SQL Server. This vulnerability results in the potential for privilege escalation. Basically someone that already has a login could take advantage of the flaws to gain full admin access to the system. These only apply to the SQL Server engine. This means that they do not apply to client tools, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Notification Services.

This was a critical hotfix from a month ago. Everyone should have updated their systems back then.
