Hi,

While I am doing the Shrinking of the database I got the following error.

Can anyone tell me as to how I need to solve this problem.

Sometimes, it says Primary file cannot be shrinked as there not enough space to carry the shrinking.

DBCC SHRINKDATABASE: File ID 1 of database ID 7 was skipped because the file does not have enough free space to reclaim.

Thanks in advance.

You can't shrink below minimum size.

Is there any unused space in the file? Nothing to shrink if not.

If you need to make smaller , consider moving\deleting data

Thanks Experts for your time and replies.

I have to say after the completion of shrinking of the databases and its files there is not much space is available to shrink further and needs to either increase the disk space or delete existing data which is not so vulnerable.

Once again thanks
