| Hi All,One of our new user has a Windows XP Professional on his machine. Once the user connect to our internal VPN(Cisco VPN), using windows authentication in SQL Server Managment Studio, the user needs to connect to SQL Server 2005 (our internal server), but without using remote desktop. We have already users able to do this (they also have XP Professional and SQL Server 2005 on thier machines). But I dont know how to do this for a new user. I need to know what are the pre-requisites to do this? For example a user should have been defined on the remote server, with such & such rights, etc etc.Can someone list all the steps or pre-requisites to do this. Thanks,Zee |

| Well it depends on what rights they will need. You really need to provide us with more information. Remote desktop is never required for almost everyone.Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog |
