good day everyone.

i have this problem on trying to setup replication on a new server inside a domain.

i have tried setting up merge replication on MSSQL 2005 before and it works fine, but not inside a domain.

this is the error i am geeting when I tried to configure the publisher.

SQL Server replication requires the actual server name to make a connection to the server. Connections through a server alias, IP address, or any other alternate name are not supported. Specify the actual server name, 'ABSID-0209'. (Replication.Utilities)

'the servername i am accessing on my machine is 'Tech-DaveCB' same as my domain account.

the DBLogin i used in the Tech-DaveCB have sysadmin role

has anybody solved this same problem before.
please help.

thanks.

Try creating alias for it.
