While creating an ODBC connection for SQL Server 2005 when I try to select the server name from the drop down it is empty. It is not showing the server nameAny Idea why is this happening?? |

| yes, over LAN...infact these are two different domains connected with P2P connectivity......all the clients can ping the server machine. |

| Are you going Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Data Sources(ODBC)? What are your driver options & which one did you select? |

| It could be a firewall blocking it. If you have one, try disabling it to see if thatt's the problem |

I am creating System DSN and selecting "SQL Server" as a driver name. |
