How did you install 8.0.2050 SP4(SQL 2000) in SQL 2005? You must be confused. 9.0.3042 is SP2 for SQL 2005.

HI,What happened was I was asked to install in SQL 2005 on the server, So put the 2005 disk in and did the install.I thought that would just do a upgrade to 2005 from 2000.I now get this message, but can find the Syntax for it.To change an existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 to a different edition of SQL Server 2005, you must run SQL Server 2005 Setup from the command prompt and include the SKUUPGRADE=1 parameter.

It sounds like you have two instances of SQL Server installed. One is SQL 2000, and one is SQL 2005. Check in the Services applet to see what you have for services that start with "MSSQL" and "SQL Server"

Looks like you are right what is the best way to just use the 2005 instances?

You will have to change each application that connects to the SQL 2000 instance, to connect to the SQL 2005 instance. How to do that varies greatly from application to application, though. Once that is done, though, you can shut down the SQL 2000 instance for a month or so, and if no one notices, uninstall it.
