| Hello everybody, I've got a security question about the MSDTC. I'm developing an application in .NET and i want to use the TransactionScope object. This works all fine on my local system, but my ISP (shared hosting) won't allow the webserver to access the MSDTC on the SQL server. Error : the transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions.I've already asked the ISP to change the setting, but they won't. Because of security issues. Now i was wondering whether there is a secure/safe way for them to allow me to use this functionality without compromising on the security levels that they obviously must provide. I hope someone has an answer to this, with which i can maybe convince the ISP to enable this great feature? Or is there perhaps another approach i can follow, to run a transaction over multiple connections without having to use the MSDTC? Thanks in advance, Tys |

| Are there any real security issues when you want to enable network DTC access? |
