| Hi,I installed 64-bit SQL Server 2005 EE on Windows 2003 EE Sp1. While I tried to patch it with Sp2 it did not let me patch the database services. | Looks like you didn't install 64-bit SQL Server. ALL patches should be 64-bit as well. |

| Vhusain some features of SQL 2005 are not running yet on 64 bit. I don't remember where I saw it but I'm sure that I saw it. Thats why these features are running on x86 mode. I'm not sure but I think that the resource that I'm talking about is on the first chapter of the MCITP self training book for the 70-431 exam. If you have this book you you can check it as well. But as I told you I'm not really sure.RegardsPanagiotisMSc Advanced Computing Science MSc Database ProfessionalSheffield Hallam UniversityMCP (70-229, 70-228)Industrial IT Engineer |

| Dear All,I finally managed to install the 64-bit version cleanly and installed SP2 on it. I had to delete the registry settings completely. THe Windows Cleanup utility helped. The culprit was the registry!!Thanks you all for helping me out.CheersVaishali |
