| New to DBA We have a SQL 2005 64 bit server with 32 GB Ram. Should I make it AWE Enabled.Should I keek the default settings for Min and Max memory, or how should I change the min and max memory.Any help is appreciatedThanks,Kusum Jain |

| You don't need to enable AWE for 64-bit Server. PAE and boot.ini means nothing for it. You have to enable "Lock pages in Memory' so that you don't get Memory Paging out in Event Log. |

| Best way is to run Performance counters on Memory usage and you can set min and max memory depending on how much you want to allocate for OS and other apps(if exists). |
