if you are taking backup with plane you have to delete old file,if you want to have new file you have to delete old files and for that you have to create one batch file which delete old backup every.Backup Database DB to Disk = '<Path>\OSDB.bak'and save following files in Bat filecd "<Path>"del *.bak /Qor from backup task select Backup DBs across one or more files:Add Name and select "If Backup files exist: "OverwriteRegards,Hitesh Soni

You can Also use the clean up task if you have download the hotfix! You can schedule a job before the backup plan to check for older backups and according to how many days you want to keep select to delete the others. But you have to dowload the specific hotfix. If you don't you may schedule it to delete and if you check they will be there! Without notifications and warnings.Regards LepeniotisMSc Advanced Computing Science MSc Database ProfessionalSheffield Hallam UniversityMCP (70-229, 70-228)Industrial IT Engineer

You can do through Maintenance plan with cleanup task or you can use Tara's script to do it efficiently.
