I am bit surprised 'cos i didnt think 2000 will run on vista, except from an upgrade of XP.Anyway, vista comes with permissions, and i will advice you right click EM and choose run as administrator. Hopefully should solve the problem. |

Yes,Vista supports SQL 2000. Did you delete admin permission that comes while installing SQL 2000? What about sa account? Can you login with that? |

Even when I choose EM to run as administrator it displays the same message as access denied. In Service Manager the option in the Server :HOME-PC\SQLEXPRESSServices:SQL Server is displayed in this the start/continue button is invisible(not enabled)and I have also othre services like MSDTC in which when I click start button it show the message "Access denied"and in the other SQL server Agent when I click the start button it displays "The specified Service is does not exixt as an installed service. For all the three services the server remains the same. But when I go through the Enterprise Manager when I click the HOME-PC\SQLEXPRESS it shows that the connection has been failed(check SQL Server Registration properties). And also I could see other server in EM called (local)(Windows NT)when I dbl click I could see Items inside that (Databases,Management,Replication...).But I could not see this server inside the service manager.Any help? Thanks in advanceRaghul |
