Hi all.Firstly thank you for looking at this topic.I am not to sure about replication and need some advice really. The scenario is as follows:I have a remote SQL Server 2005 instance with a Website dependent on it. We have users who log onto this web site and add / update information. We need the remote server in place for security reasons and so on….. but information needs to be uploaded to our local SQL 2005 server as soon as it is updated on the remote server.1. I am not sure what replication would be used for this?2. And can it be controlled on the local server for administration?3. Also what happens when or if we make changes to the local database architecture is it changed on both local and remote servers automatically or do I have to change recreate the replication process?Hope this makes sense. Kind RegardsPete. |

1)Transactional replication(1 way) from local to remote2)Yes3)If Local is publisher then yes.Otherwise you have to go for 2-way transactional or Merge Replication. |
