Hello all,
I have a production server on which sql server 2K is installed and when i am starting the sql server agent there is one exe running on the system (sqlserveragent.exe) and the path is c:\program files\microsoft sql server\mssql\binn .This is present as a running batch file and when i stop this exe on the server the agent stops please tell me how to hide this exe running.

Unsure if I understand the question. What do you mean by "This is present as a running batch file". When you have SQL Agent service running, you will have the executable running as background process.

yeah my dear frnd you are saying right that there is a back ground process running in case sql server agent.

I mean to say that this background process is visible on the screen in the form of batch file.how to hode that exe window visible on the screen.

How are you starting SQL Server Agent? Are you starttig it as service (created durig isntallation) from services applet?

Start-->run-->services.msc --> SQL Server Agent.

Yeah starting from anywhere ie from services.msc or from service manager or from enterprise manager the issue is same..........

Sorry for delayed response. Can you share SQL Agent logs as wella scheck Application event log for any errors. Also check SQL Server Errorlog for any errors. This certainly is weird behvior.
