| Ritesh writes "If a program creates dynamically physical tables on daily basis and deletes it everyday, is there any impact on space management and performance speed. Assuming DBA will run the maintenance plan once in a week or two. Thanks for the help. " |

| Naturally, you need to consider how large a table the programs will attempt to create. If you only got 5 MB left on a drive ( silly example, I know, but still!), then you may have a situation where your programs cause you to run out of space. Just like an application that causes excessive temp_db growth. Space management is (imho), something your need automated, ongoing and reactive on a server, as well as proactive in terms of trend analysis of data growth. This is all work that, from what I've seen, falls to the DBA, since no-one else seems to want to do it, and can look at both drive usage growth trends, and data usage and growth trends.I suggest determining the space requirements of the temp tables, and monitoring in an ongoing process to ensure that, "suddenly" they don't start eating your disp space.Just my 2 cents ... |
