Hello everyone…! ?I’ve been having this annoying problem with SQL Server 2000 server agent… I have a lot of jobs scheduled either daily, weekly, and so on…Sometimes, jobs fail and I can see that by the red sign that is near the jobs’ name… But (and this is what bothers me most) they, occasionally, fail without leaving any error message whatsoever!! And I can only figure that the job failed if I look at start and next run dates…For example, I have a job scheduled to run every day… It ran successfully yesterday, so it appears Last Run Status (Start Date)=12-11-2008… It should have ran today but didn’t and it appears Next run date=14-11-2008. It didn’t run today but also it didn’t return any error of notification…! It is enabled and executes perfectly in the design mode…Can anyone help me understand why this happens??Thank you all! |

Did you check the job history?right click on job ->view job history ->show step details. And I think job might have ran on 11/13 but since it failed (I assume)it's showing next run on 11/14. |

Hi!Yes... I checked the history... But nothing appeared on the 13th... I found this on micro$oft page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285635/en-us ... but that isn't exactly my problem... It says that happens when the jobs ending time ends at the next day... In my case, the start and end dates are the same...But it also says that micro$oft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0 and in SQL Server 2000... I guess that upgrading into 2005 will solve the problem...lol:) |
