Hey i copied over 50 of 70 tables to a new database using a import wizard DTS package and now i see it has created the tables that i did not select. Why does it or would it do this. If they were used in views or stored procedures would it import them also?.

My problem is that i need to copy over the other 20 tables at the end of the year will the import wizard give me a problem or over write the tables i already copied over ? i see it given issues with users etc any advice would be great ..

Export/Import just copies data ,not constraints. It just copies what you specified and it's not smart enough to detect dependency.

Are you sure about that?Never had that issue with it? Maybe destination database already has tables. Can you try with 5 tables first?
