Hi,

I've one database which has recovery mode SIMPLE. Does chaning from SIMPLE to FULL required anythings to change?

Does earlier backup no longer valid after changing recovery mode to FULL?

Please advice what would be any impact?

Thanks,

-Dinesh

No.This will let you backup transaction log as well and everything will be logged .

Yes but restoring old backup will put your database in simple recovery model and you won't be able backup log. You need to do full backup after changing to FULL so you can create log chain with Transaction log backup. This will let you restore point in time.

Please advice what would be any impact?

Thanks,

-Dinesh

Yes, and in addition to what Sodeep has suggested now as you have your database in full recovery model you should schedule a job to take T-Log backup at regular interval. It is always recommended to have databaes in Full recovery model in production envrionment so that you can have point-in-time recovery available.
