Are there any special considerations I should be aware of in migrating directly from 2000 to 2008? Especially in a cluster situation? Thanks. |

Having done a few myself, not that I know of other than the minimum requirement of SP4 for SQL 2000. If maintaining minimum downtime is utmost priority, then you might need to so some dancing between the nodes. If not, its simple. The big change is number of times you need to run the install. Its nodes * instances. So for a 2 node 2 instance cluster you need to run the setup 4 times and for 3x3, 9 times. Its time consuming but less issues. Just bring extra latte.Dinakar Nethi************************Life is short. Enjoy it.************************http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/dinakar/ |
