Hi Guys,

I am doing transactional replication.
I sucessfully configured distributor and after that I configured publisher.
After configuring publisher...I used launch replication monitor.
In replication monitor, I got error login failed for sql server agent.

Please guide me...how should I proceed inorder to do transactional replication.

After you configure Publisher, you need to add subscriber.

Make sure the accounts you are using when configurring the distributor, actually have access to the publisher and subscriber. Try logging in with those accounts in SSMS/Query Analyzer to check if the login works.

I know I have to configure subscriber also.
But after configuring the publisher...when I check whether it is configured properly by launching replication monitor I am getting an error.

May i know which logging we need to take note while configure Publisher and Subscribe? Can explain in detail?

I face the same problem also, and I have no idea which login name I need to change or use.

Kindly advice. Thank You.

Ashwini, You're getting "Login failed for user error" This doesn't seem to be complete error message. If you are looking for accurate solutions. Please post complete error messsage. And don't forget to check sys.servers system tables output on Publisher to verify setup. You will see is_publisher,is_subscriber,is_distributor entries as 1 if things are set up properly.

Ashwini, I think you need to first set up a DOMAIN login, and grant appropriate access for both, subscriber and publisher, to access to the snap shot folder. If you missed out this part, before that you must share a folder, and grant access to the domain login (usually use Windows NT login).

good luck.
