Can one Server handle 70 databases? Can you give some backgrounds?

I'd highly recommend using multiple instances rather than putting them all in one so that you can reduce the amount of time it takes to perform maintenance on the instance such as backups, statistics, etc. I probably wouldn't go over 20-40 database per instance.

What are the hardware features of Server? I mean Memory,Processors,Disks and etc. That play huge role in it.
