I was trying to test SQL 2000 (32-bit) upgrade to SQL 2008 (64-bit) will work and I was not able to restore onto the 64-bit server. The source database is configured for replication on 32-bit SQL 2000 (std edition). The destination is 64-bit SQL 2008 (Ent edition). So I did a backup, copy it to the destination server and try the restore. But it failed with bunch stack dump and the error "During upgrade, database raised exception 2905, severity 25, state 1, address 0000000002B93DCD. Use the exception number to determine the cause.".Does anybody had any similar problem as this ?Thanks. |

Did you use KEEP_REPLICATION feature while restoring in SQL 2008? |

I didn't use KEEP_REPLICATION because my goal was not to test replication. I just want to test if the front-end application can interact with the 64-bit database.I read the description of KEEP_REPLICATION, it is "used when setting up replication to work with log shipping" which is not my case. But thanks for trying. Please help ... thanks. |
