Is there a way to run ClearTrace 2008 from the command line?

Right now there isn't a working command-line version. That is on my to do list though.

Let's give this a try:

http://www.cleardata.biz/cleartrace/cleartracecmd.2008.30.zip

It works in all the basic cases. The error handling isn't great yet. Give it a try and let me know what problem areas still exist. I'm not officially releasing it yet. Just giving it to a few people that read the forums to try out. :)

Hey Graz,
I tried it and I get that generic error when trying to process the files. All else up to that point seem to work fine. I am processing files from SQL Server 2005 and 2000 and writing to a SQL 2005 database if that helps. I had the same error no matter SQL 2000 or 2005 files.

So you can process the file OK when you use the GUI version but not when you use the command-line version?

mperino,

I think I know what this is. Let me get you an updated build. It won't be until tonight though.

Bill, I just wanted you to know that I greatly appreciate the quick turnaround in getting us a command line version. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play with it yet. I've been fighting production fires all week. I hope that things will calm down soon so that I can get back to proactive administration, which will involve using your tool.

Graz, you are the man! It works great. I have automated it and now using on my dev system for a week before moving to production. Thanks again Graz, really appreciate your efforts on this!
