| Since role information is stored in the sysusers table, technically you can have an unlimited number of roles, over 10 billion if you so choose. However, having a lot of roles is not necessarily a good idea, especially they have overlapping permissions with one another.BTW, DO NOT insert, delete, or update rows directly in sysusers. Use the system procedures to add, modify or remove roles and role members. Books Online has all of the details. |
