I have configured replication with a dozen publications each containing a number of articles. The actual replication is (was)working. My issue is that the log file on the source database won't shrink because it has some replication pending per sys.databases. Is there some technique that can get the various publications to commit in sync so that the log file can be brought under control. Currently, since it is growing beyond available disk space (350GB), I have had to abort the replication. Many thanks.=======================================Men build too many walls and not enough bridges. -Isaac Newton, philosopher and mathematician (1642-1727) |

Unfortunately, my decision to delete the replication was an emergency response. I'm going forward by implementing each publication one at a time and seeing where the issue arises.=======================================Men build too many walls and not enough bridges. -Isaac Newton, philosopher and mathematician (1642-1727) |

for future purposes, you should be setting up Alerts on replication to notify if jobs fail or if latency increases beyond a certain time frame etc.. which are the symptoms of a developing storm.. :)Dinakar Nethi************************Life is short.
