i am trying to drop an index in the size of 2180520kb
it's running for 7.5 hours .... any idea why it take so much time?

Israel -the best place to live in aftr heaven 9but no one wan't to go there so fast -:)

i have found the problem.
once i have removed the Primary KEY everything went in seconds.
can any one explain why?

Yes.
All non-clustered indexes contains a pointer to the clustered index, if such exists.
When removing the clustered index, all non-clustered indexes has to change the record pointer to another pointer.

why after i deleted aall the indexe's i still see that it holds a space of ~1GB?
can i clean that to?
