Hi,

Is it possible to replicate the data from SQL 2005 LIVE Data Server(Publisher) to SQL 2000 Report Server (Subscriber)? If possible, Distributor should be in SQL 2005 server only or Distributor can be configured in SQL 2000?

If we configure Distributor in SQL 2005, then will there be more performance issues in the SQL 2005 server?

Please suggest me the best process.

Thanks,
Govtham

yes you can replicate from SQL 2005 to SQL 2000. The only requirement is the distributor has to be AT LEAST the same build as the publisher. I dont think there is any performance benefit/hit by configuring the distributor at 2005/2000 levels. You should look into how much load the publisher is taking and if it can handle the additional load of pushing the data out if you configure distributor on the publisher. If you configure subscriber as distributor, with pull replication, all your agents are sitting on the subscirber (which otherwise isnt doing anything)...
