| Hi friends, We are taking backup on tape drive directly using third party software.Job is scheduled in Sql Server runs once in day early morning. Backup is failure and got the folowing msg in Event log18210BackupMedium: ReportError: Write Failure on backup 'BackupDeviceName'operating system error 995(Error not found).Investigating the root cause, anyone has faced same issue, how to fix it forever.SQL IN Minds |

| This error says there is a problem with the backup media, cannot write to the media. Are you backing up to tape, to disk or what? Can you try backing up to a different location to test the backup job? |

| I see you are backing up to tape - have you tried more than one tape? Also make sure tape is not write protected. Also if tape is full and job is set to append could have this problem. |
