Hi everybody,

Does anyone know how to assign a title to a tab in a report made in Microsoft Visual Studio? The idea is to see a title at the bottom of a page in Excel after exporting the report, based on specific data.
For example, I run the report with an item number as a parameter. And I'd like to see this item number as sheet title.

Thanks a lot.
Have a nice day.

Annakonda,

Check out this great post. It is not specific to Reporting Services but to all SQL Server.

In Reporting Services, when you export to Excel, the tab name will default to the Report Name. If you have multiple Lists or Tables in your report, then I read (can't seem to find the link right now) that it will put each Table in a separate tab and give the tab the name of the Table.

You will also get new tabs when you have a table and the grouping specifies a page break either before or after. Also, the tab as report name only goes to 31 characters.
