One of the columns in a table of ours is the path and name of a document on our server. I was asked of I could turn the data into a hyperlink. Has anyone ever had the opportunity to accomplish that?

I'm a patient person plus I know not many people visit the SSRS threads.
Thanks for the help!

My data field did not have the full path including the "\\ServerName\ShareName\"

Once I concatenated, it worked. Thanks.

You replied early about folder management in report server website, is 100% you cannot stop users from looking at certain folders?

Actually if you remove FolderBrowsing from the Role (or copy to new name and remove) you can stop. Just playing with that this morning.

- Configure Item Level Role Def
- Browser
- Optionally copy to new name

There are only 2 members on the whole site me and the admin, but people are still able to browse to the website and fully view everything.

Im assuming because everyone is able to log onto the server, where the site sits on?

Are they browsing through report manager or a custom reporting site you have?
If Report Manager, there must be a default. How aer they getting there to start?
If normal IIS web site, you can remove the ability to browse folders in the Web Site properties.

If in IIS, Web Site Properties, click Virtual Directory Tab and uncheck Directory Browsing.

Yep,,

Got another issue aswell, i have a report users export to excel, ive changed the data type to float, int, nvarchar etc but the user still has to change the cell to number from the spreadsheet. isnt there a format that automatically sets to number in excel?

thanks

Re: Navigation - "Folder" structure is virtual and can only be controlled by security of the role the user is assigned to. Will grab an example in a bit.

I replied on the other thread regarding the Excel.
