i have a fairly long running asp page (1-4 minutes) thats doing a bunch of db lookups, about 1/2 through the process (where it happens changes every time), i get the 'sql does not exist..' error:
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

no events are fired, the sql commands just above it returned data, its not a timeout error! i've re-opening the connection at the outer loop to no avail. any suggestions?

iis6 on win2k3 -> sql 2005 express running on win 2k3 (seperate machine).

Have you monitored the server for any possible resource issues?
Maybe max CPU usage...

Any errors in the Windows Event viewer?
