I am trying to replicate a SQL 2000 Server to a SQL 2008 server. I used wizards on the SQL 2000 machine to setup SQL 2000 Server as the publisher and distributor, and to push a subscription to the SQL 2008 Server. This all seemed to go smoothly. In the replication monitor the article push subscription fails with the following error message:"The SQL Server version of the Publisher server need to be upgraded to 'Microsoft SQL Server 9.0'."The database on my 2008 server is setup for SQL 2000 compatibility. Is there no way to replicate a 2000 publisher/distributor to a 2008 subscriber? Thanks.Jake |

Hello, Am sorry for the old posting. You could do the replication from 2000 to 2008. When you replicate between or among different versions of SQL Server, you are usually limited to the functionality of the earliest version used. The Distributor version must be no earlier than the Publisher version.A SQL Server 2000 Publisher can have SQL Server 2008 Subscribers, and a SQL Server 2008 Publisher can have SQL Server 2000 Subscribers. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143241.aspxThanks,Krishnawww.SQLServer.in |
