Hi Gurus,

Platform - NT Server 4.0
RDBMS - SQL Server 7.0

I have been using SQLServer 7.0 for a real time (Stock trading) frontend application, in which the s/w accesses the database very frequently. As a result of that, my .ldf(transcation log) file becomes huge vey quickly. I often try to truncate transaction log and shrink DB(thru SQL Server Enterprise Manager) to bring down the size. But on all occasions I have seen that the .ldf file size does not get reduced. My question is to how to reduce this log file size and what is the regular way to dothis effectively? Pls. help me out, my file size is more that 1GB now.

Thanx in advance.
