Krisian writes "I have a question about the dbcc showcontig... I have read about it on BOL but that gives just techinal information. I would like to know more on how to intrept the results. for eaxmple I ran it against one of my table:

Table: 'CALC_QUART_STAT_RELATIONSHIP' (210308009); index ID: 1, database ID: 8
TABLE level scan performed.
- Pages Scanned................................: 24
- Extents Scanned..............................: 6
- Extent Switches..............................: 7
- Avg. Pages per Extent........................: 4.0
- Scan Density [Best Count:Actual Count].......: 37.50% [3:8]
- Logical Scan Fragmentation ..................: 4.17%
- Extent Scan Fragmentation ...................: 83.33%
- Avg. Bytes Free per Page.....................: 554.8
- Avg. Page Density (full).....................: 93.15%

What is a good becnhmark to comapre these results to? The pages are pretty full at 93% but the scan density is at 37% so it is pretty fragmented across the pages.

Thanks in advance..
Kristian"
