I have a job setup that runs as the administrator, has one step which runs a stored procedure via EXEC <spname>, and is scheduled to run every 15 minutes(Occurs every 1 day(s), every 15 minute(s) between 12:00:00 AM and 11:59:59 PM).

The only problem is that it runs somewhat irregularly, if at all. Even though it's suppose to run every 15 minutes, the eventlog shows it as running maybe once an hour at most. The server is not overtaxed by any means, so I don't think it's losing out on priority to other tasks. The SQL Agent is up and running, so it's not that. Any ideas guys?

Thanks,
Steve

If the job is already running, then the SQLAgent will not launch another instance of the job. So your job must be running longer than 15 minutes. Try running the stored procedure inside of QA and found out how long it takes.

Tried that already, the SP only takes 15 seconds max to run.

The problems appears to have been PerfMon watches running wild with the Event Log. I'm not quite sure the exact reasoning(maybe the Event Log can only be used by one app at a time?). Anyways, the watches were polling every five seconds and tripping their switches. Once I turned off event logging for them, the Job started running as expected.
