Can I export from a SQL Server 2000 db to a SQL Server 2005 or 2008?
Can I export from a SQL Server 2005 db to a SQL Server 2008?
In other words, are there any issues or tips I need to know or is it straight forward? I am receiving a dump and need to upload it to a SQL Server 2005 and 2008 db.
Thanks

Yes those are possible. I'm not aware of any gotchas/issues/etc. Hopefully the DDL is the same between the source and destination. Otherwise, you may need to use a staging table.

Thx. How about version 2005 or 2008 back to 2000? Any issues going backward, so to speak?

Not with import/export, just with restores. Restores aren't backwards compatible.

So yes import/export will work going back to 2000.
