I like the topic name!Does a SQL Server backup have to be on the local machine? No space left for initial full backup. I want to use a remote server. Right next to it. This is not a big or busy database. 3Gb.I just can't see, in the windows / wizard, if you can put \\dev-HRWeb/d$ anywhere. It seems to like just local devices. This must be possible! When you have no space, on either C:\ or D:\... what do you do? I am not a Windows Server person. Are you? I'll get this stuff in place, in a day or so - more devices - but can I temporarily save my poor data remotely, maybe after midnight, ASAP..? |

Instead of clicking [...] to choose path and type in a filename you can directly input path AND filename.I think the dialog is named Target on Harddrive. That should be no problem if your server can reach the path... No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

Of course. I post toooo kwik. I sensed that it might be a subtle feature to only allow backups to direct physical devices.Ta |
