http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=138230Refers to SQL 2008, but pretty much all of it relevant to SQL 2005Why not upgrade to SQL 2008? You will buy yourself more time before you have to upgrade again ... and do all the same testing works yet again ...(Although you cannot restore SQL 7 onto SQL 2008, so you would have to go via either SQL 2000 or SQL 2005, as discussed in that link) |

"(Although you cannot restore SQL 7 onto SQL 2008, so you would have to go via either SQL 2000 or SQL 2005, as discussed in that link)"Hmmmm, so you need to buy a SQL 2000 or 2005, restore to the 2000/2005 and then backup again and restore it on 2008. Something like that ... although Express will do if database doesn't exceed Max Size limitation... anyone still supporting 6.5? 6? (that would have to upgrade to SQL 2000 - which is presumably no longer sold? got to draw the line somewhere. |
