| Hi All,Am very new to SQL Server Clusttering ?? I have less knowledge in this area nor i got any chance to work on it which involves resources , resource groups , storage (SAN) etc....If am a fresher / or a new comer to SQL Admin area what questions can be asked to test the knowlege on sql clusttering??Is that mandatory to have hands on experience on what is sql clusttering and failover happens in sql clusttering??Recently, i have attended some interviews and am able to answer to types and some concepts on clusttering. I don't exactly know what they are expecting from the a Jr.DBA on this regard???Can anyone share there thoughts on this ?Thanks in Advance. |

| If you are applying for a junior DBA position, then I would assume that they wouldn't be asking too many question regarding clustering. If it were me, I would be asking you about basic concepts of clustering such as the difference between active/active and active/passive, difference between clustering and mirroring, etc. To get senior knowledge of clustering, it does require hands-on experience. | They were asking about the how clustering works, types , resource and resource groups , quarum disk, etc..Idea on Storage i.e SAN or NAS?How many IP's required?How failover happens ?Hands on experience of installing and configuring sql server on a Custered ENV?Troubleshooting? |
