| When running SP_WHo2 Active command. I notice that 8 of my 33 SPIDS have a status of Background and command of LAZY WRITER and CPUTime of 398918425 and DISK IO of 94074905Is this normal to have 8 SPIDS that are a month old sitting there for over a month with High numbers for CPU and DISK IO? |

| those background SPIDs are system processes. They start when SQL starts and don't terminate until SQL stops. Taken over a month, that's not a lot of CPU and IO. Besides, the lazywriter's job is to write data to disk. Hence it's going to have a lot of IOs.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
