cheung writes "Hi,I have 2 versions of SQL servers, SQL 2000 Standard with service pack 3 and SQL 7 standard also with service pack 3. My SQL 2000 is my production server. I would like to use SQL 7 as my warm standby server but i understand that the system files (master and msdb) are not compatible with each other. I also understand that i cannot utilise log shipping/replication as SQL standard version do not support these features. Any help ? Thanx a lot."

You should be able to setup replication between the two servers.
You still would have to manually setup failover between them though.
